Rani Yamutewa is a member of the Zuni Pueblo and is Kolot’da:kwe (Crane Clan) deyan K’walashi:kwe a:wan cha’le (Child of a Crow clan). She studied at the University of Arizona in Tucson where she majored in Social and Behavioral Health Science with a minor in American Indian Studies. Rani, currently known as “Miss Rain”, is the ZYEP Performing Arts teacher at Shiwi Ts’ana Elementary. Rani began her 8 year ZYEP journey in 2014 as a camp counselor before transitioning into a summer camp coordinator, youth development assistant and a member of the ZYEP youth advisory council. A passion and love for interacting and influencing Zuni youth is what constantly drives her heart back to work within ZYEP and the community.
